Even Shane complained last night that I haven't updated the blog in a while and he sees Eli every day. I can't imagine what the grandmothers must be thinking!
Eli upgraded to a real crib 2 days ago. He looks like such a big guy in it! The only problem is that he has a lot more tumbling space. Tumbling is a lot more fun than napping and tumbling can be fun when you wake up in the middle of the night. If our apartment was bigger and he had his own room this wouldn't really be a problem but our bed is right next to his and when he decides to have tumbling practice and 1:30am and talk to himself about it, no one gets much sleep! I will try to capture some tumbling on video soon so you can see that it really is tumbling.. he hasn't quite mastered the fine art of rolling. At least not from his tummy to his back. He just sticks his butt up as high as possible and sees which way he falls!
In the mean time here are some pictures.
We had Jenn and Christi for dinner last Saturday. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Christi because it was bed time and someone was getting grumpy by the time I thought about it.
I took the following pictures this morning on the couch and for some reason they are not all in focus. I need to learn how to use my camera better.

Summer!
We've had 4 days of amazing sunshine here and it's meant to continue for the next few days - yippee!
Saturday we had a family picnic in the park..
Sunday night Etienne came for dinner. We had a fun evening catching up but we missed the other 2/3 of his family!
And Monday Eli and I picked Sara up from work during her lunch break and we had another picnic in the park.
Oh my! Those thighs!

Sunday Streets
Yesterday was beautiful in San Francisco and we decided to go for a walk to a new Mexican restaurant that we'd heard about. We stumbled across 'Sunday Streets' which is where a huge number of streets are closed for 5 hours on a Sunday so that people can bike and play in the streets. It runs from May to October and is in a different neighbourhood each weekend. There were bands playing, a Capoeira demonstration, activities for kids, free bike hire and loads of happy people!

Toucans beware!
Eli learned to roll over tonight. He's been building up to it for a while by getting to his side and now that he can do it he did it over and over! The trouble is that he can't roll back yet and gets frustrated on his tummy. The toucan bears the brunt of his frustration!

Labor Day
It was the Labor Day long weekend and surprise, surprise.. it was cold and foggy here! We went to Mac and Amy Jo's on Saturday night and Ryan and Sara's on Sunday night and during the day I knitted! This is the first thing I've ever knitted with a pattern and I'm pretty pleased with myself!

Bathtime antics
Eli loves his bath. He kicks like a mad things and makes the funniest faces. Here's a little video and the clean for 2 seconds before he spits up again, product!
And nothing to do with bathtime at all but a nice photo of the dahlia garden in Golden Gate Park.
