Taking time to smell the roses

Eli loves flowers ('bower').  He points out every flower when we are out and loves to smell them even when they are in books!  We often have flowers in the house and he constantly walks over to them pointing and saying 'bower' and sniffing the air until we take the vase down for him to have a sniff!

Eli Doesn't Take New Hampshire for Granite!

Guest blog alert!!! Eli and Daddy went to The Granite State last week and had quite a fun time hanging out with Yia Yia and Pappou. Despite the 90 degree heat and full humidity, we managed to stay cool in the pool and get out and about around Concord a bit. We went to a Fisher Cats baseball game, White Park,  Blossom Hill Farm, and the Market Days street fair. Auntie Pip and Auntie Jessie also joined in on the fun, along with some other family members.  Eli learned several new words, including: Yia, Yia, Pappou, Pip, fan (prounounced "man"), truck, car, bite, and monkey (mamie). At the farm, he learned that cows go "moo", ducks say, "quack" and dogs say, "woof woof." Yia Yia also fed him a couple of servings of ice cream, which I think was his favorite part of the whole week. Here are some photos. If I find any good video footage then I'll post it later. Oh, and the plane ride home was torturous without Mommy.

More dancing

Eli loves to listen to head phones.  We were at the park the other night and he went right up to a guy who was listening to his ipod and the guy gave him one to listen to and he thought it was awesome!  On a side note, on the same night, Eli walked up to a girl with that fake coloured bright red hair you see occasionally, pointed, and said 'Elmo'!  He actually spotted her from away a bit and the whole time he was walking toward her he was pointing and saying it!  She thought it was funny, luckily.
Back on the headphones subject: Tonight when I got home from work and picked up Eli he grabbed my necklace, which has a silver circle, then put it to his ear and swayed side to side saying 'dancing'!  He's a funny little character!

Birthday dinner

We had an early dinner tonight at Nopalito for mine and Shane's birthdays.  It's a fancy Mexican place and the food is incredible.  The fish and octopus ceviche was maybe the best thing I've eaten in a while.  To finish we had a Mexican chocolate popsicle which is rich dark chocolate with a hint of cinnamon.. mmmmmmm!
