Port Douglas

We had an amazing week in Port Douglas at the beginning of July.  Although these pictures capture the goings on they made me think that I really need to stop taking pictures on my phone and go back to carrying my SLR around again.  We got a new movie and new headphones for Eli for the trip and we thought we were in for a peaceful flight with Molly asleep.  Well the movie lasted about 8 mintues before he decided he wanted to read a book, go to the toilet, look at the safety manual, play a game, watch a movie again for 2 mins etc.  I never knew how easy I really had it before I started traveling with kids!

Woops, a bit out of order.  Our 'pool house'.  Eli keeps asking when we are going back to our pool house again!

On the train back from Kuranda Eli sat with Peto almost the whole way.

Green Island take 2.  The first day we tried to go our boat broke down half way out to the reef and we had to go back.

A month in review

The past month has been crazy in a great way.  At the end of June we surprised Shane with a week in Port Douglas to celebrate his 40th.  The Hateleys, Crumptons, Lucas' and Petersons joined us and we rented 2 great houses... but I don't have the photos of that trip!  They are on Shane's computer so I'll post them soon.
The day after we got back from Qld G Jops and GFK arrived.  Eli was very happy that they came in their car this time instead of GFK's noisy motorbike!

Eli, Molly and I then went to Tasmania to stay with Zoe, Paul and Liam while G Jops and GFK were there too.   We all squeezed in and the weather was surprisingly nice for being the middle of winter.  Eli and Liam did some nice playing together (and some not so nice but who needs photos of that?!)

The old steam train at Margate.

Eli got invited into the cockpit when we landed in Hobart!  He was so excited and the poor pilot kept trying to get us out of there but Eli kept asking questions! 'Um um um, I've got one more question.  What is this book for?'  'Um um um, I've got one more question.  How fast do you go?'  And so it went on!

When we got back to Melbourne we went on a real steam train.  The Puffing Billy in Belgrave.  Maddie, Milly, Louie and Lou's dad Miles came too.

The same day the GFK and G Jops left Billy arrived!  He just came for one night because he was in the county for work.  It was so great to catch up and Eli loved Billy (as well as the games on his ipad!)
This is my current fave photo.
